Growing with Latcham
Kickstart your career at Latcham. Many people have started their careers at Latcham and a huge number have chosen to stay and develop their skills.
We were delighted to be able to celebrate Olivia’s (Liv) Russ’ 21st birthday recently. And whilst we never need much encouragement to celebrate someone’s birthday as who can resist a good cake! – we wanted, with Liv’s permission, to tell you a little about her journey with Latcham.
Liv knew early on that she learns best by “doing” rather than being in a classroom and so applied for an apprenticeship with Latcham. Joining the team aged seventeen, over the last three years Liv has flourished. Initially honing her skills in general administration and reception, Liv has successfully completed her level 2 and level 3 apprenticeship, passing level 3 with distinction, and progressing to her current role as Production Planning Administrator. Liaising across all departments from client services, data services and production, Liv not only keeps everyone briefed about jobs coming in, she also plans mailings with Royal Mail. Happy and confident in her current position, Liv is still keen to extend her skills, always making the most of opportunities to learn more about different parts of the business.
Over the last ten years, Latcham has taken on 6 apprentices within its office staff, with plans to recruit another this year.
Mike Hughes, Managing Director says “successful employers play a pivotal role regionally and nationally in encouraging talent and creating opportunities for young people. The challenging jobs market is only too evident at the moment and if Latcham can contribute in a small way towards helping build someone’s future, then we are only too delighted to do so”. Mike also added “I would also like to recognise the extremely important work of those who have trained and developed the next generation and shared their wisdom and experience with them”.
